Toronto (October 19, 2010) – Sudden Storm Entertainment Ltd. has completed a deal to acquire the existing production assets of kids’ show producer Heroic Film Company. The Heroic banner, meanwhile, will be carried forward under two new shingles: Heroic TV and Heroic Interactive.

Sudden Storm will handle Heroic’s interests in its previously produced television properties, including Captain Flamingo, Connor Undercover, and the first season of How to Be Indie. Sudden Storm and HeroicTV will also co-produce the second season of Indie, distributed internationally by DHX Media and seen on YTV in Canada.

Heroic Interactive has completed production on the How To Be Indie and Connor Undercover multimedia properties  and has plans for expansion. “It’s an exciting time for Heroic Interactive” said founder Karen Lee Hall, “as we branch out to encompass interactive content production for a number of really innovative and dynamic clients and partners.”

Heroic TV principals and showrunners John May and Suzanne Bolch, meanwhile,  are thrilled with the new arrangement, which will see them creating production partnerships for new projects. “Our partners will provide business affairs expertise while we concentrate on making the shows, which is what we do best,” said Bolch.

Jesse Ikeman, Co-President of Sudden Storm, is equally pleased.  “As a growing independent production company, this deal represents Sudden Storm’s move into television production expanding our creative efforts from previously focusing mainly in feature films”.
